Best Szechuan Restaurant Manila: Chuan Xiang A Venue Mall Makati

Best Szechuan Restaurant Manila: Chuan Xiang A Venue Mall Makati. Chuan Xiang is the most authentic Szechuan Restaurant in Manila today making waves among serious foodies and of course the local Chinese expats which make up the majority of its clientele. This bi-level 50 seater restaurant was opened in October 2014 by Tony Wang who is from Sichuan province in China and graduated with a hotel and restaurant management degree but decided to setup his first restaurant in Manila at the A Venue Mall in Makati. Aside from recruiting 2 Chinese Chefs, Tony imports the majority of his ingredients including dried red chilis, peppercorns, spices and oils directly from China to ensure the authenticity of his food. The common perception that most Sichuan dishes are spicy is true although a typical meal includes non-spicy dishes to cool the palate. Their gorgeously designed menu is quite extensive with over 50 appetizers, soups, vegetarian dishes and entrees to choose from and each has a spiciness rating ranging from 0-5 which you can adjust to your specifications. We had quite a few dishes with the maximum chili indicator just like this highly recommended Chuan Xiang Boiled Fish with Spicy Sauce and it was manageable not numbingly spicy but of course this would depend on your tolerance. They also serve a big selection of Chinese alcoholic beverages and teas. We highly recommend the Chuan Xiang Boiled Fish with Spicy Sauce, Hot and Spicy Shrimp, Fried Eggplant with Sweet Sour Hot Sauce, Sauteed Romaine Lettuce, Braised Beef Noodle with Soup, Century Egg with Green Chili and for refreshments Snow Beer, Chinese Rice Wine and Iced Teas. We will be back for more! 🙂

  1. The filming wasn't the best. (Honestly here) the exchange between eating Pilipino style vs traditional Chinese: 1) presentation with a separate rice bowl to each individual seated, 2) separate serving plates or bowls to accommodate the overall meals savoury dishes onto one plate. The food otherwise normally comparable. But evidently we've seen much richer succulent sets from [The Food Ranger] eaten inside the Sichuan Province. Otherwise it's seemingly a delicious place made to tantalize foodies for another eatery inside DT Metro Manila. How [popular] might be more inquisitive … to really guess based on this recent review (viz 02/11/2017).

  2. Underwhelming, interiors. The main floor is positively normal in it's general seating arrangement but, climbing, [to view] the secondary seating level was so-so. No vista from its upper level section. Nor, decorative elements in the restaurant's one and only 'family room' which has many facets if given a chance.
