Katz’s Delicatessen New York: Best Pastrami and Reuben Sandwich in the World!

Katz’s Delicatessen New York: Best Pastrami in the World! Pastrami and Fake Orgasms go hand in hand at the most famous delicatessen in the world Katz’s Deli as cameoed in the 1989 romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally. They make a great pastrami sandwich and have built their reputation purely on quality, longevity was inevitable. It’s how they prepare it, cure it, cook it and slice it. It was started in 1888 yes more than a century ago as a small deli by the name of Iceland Brothers which was then changed to Iceland and Katz when Willy Katz joined the business in 1903 and then formally Katz’s Delicatessen in 1910 when the Kat’s bought out the Iceland Brothers. Eventually in 1988 without any heirs the remaining family members sold the business to restauranteur Martin Dell and currently his son Jake runs the business. Each day this legendary deli serves as many as 4000 visitors from around the world who get to feast on pastrami, corned beef, brisket on a different level. There are 7 butcher stations so choose the shortest line to get served.

From their menu we highly recommend their Hot Pastrami on Rye and their Reuben sandwich, the servings size is massive and one sandwich could easily fill 2 adults, but it was so damn good and after the long waiting time we each wolfed one down.

  1. Is harrolds sell I still open in edison nj. Harrold was the original owner sold his sell I in NYC. And back in 1995 opened Harrold in edison nj in Raritan center in the hotel there.

  2. any New Yorkers that are reading this can you please tell me if lets say i wanted to try all of there meats all at ones , do they have a sample plate with corn beef, pastrami, tongue , turkey salami and any other kind of meat that they normally serve?

  3. If you lose your ticket a $50 surcharge is added to your bill just goes to prove New York will steal you blind. I don't care how good the sandwich is it ain't worth that.

  4. While I love meat and I am certain the quality at Katz's is top notch. Its just not necessary to put so much red meat on a single sandwich IMO. But what the hell do i know?

  5. May be "New York Jewish-style" food, but is NOT KOSHER, as we are not permitted to eat meat and dairy foods together…I suggest going to a real Kosher deli instead…bon appetit

  6. Thanks for thew video, next time (when I am again lucky enough to visit) that big apple I intend on making the pilgrimage to Katz, looks amazing!! and this comment is from a die hard Texan BBQ King!!

  7. We went there a few years ago and they tried scamming us by taking our ticket after we paid. They said we didn't pay while we were waiting to get our food.

  8. quit moving the sandwich, mom! little girl is taking aim at where she wants to bite and mom keeps moving it, dont. hahaha just kidding
